Creating Verde Mate, we wanted to give you a high quality traditional product made in environmentally friendly and human-friendly conditions. Looking for a contractor, we travelled hundreds of miles in the brazilian state of Parana. We chose an small cultivation located west of Curitiba which is run by a family. Ilex Paraguariensis matures there in wild forest grounds amidst lush flora and fauna. Harvesting takes place in accordance with the natural cycle of vegetation using equipment known for ages. Yerba mate processing takes place in the immediate vicinity of the crops. No smoke is used for drying. After a few months of aging in coolers, thickly cut leaves without twigs are ready for the consumption. Carefully selected herbs and fruits come exclusively from the best suppliers and are added at the very end. Verde Mate fits in with the best yerba mate traditions of Brazil. It’s the taste of a centuries-old heritage cultivated by people for whom yerba mate is the whole life!
